The Jonah Special Utility District provides water for about 19,611 living in the Hutto area. Established in unknown, the Jonah Water Sud Water collects its water from groundwater and surface water sources. The groundwater comes from Edwards and associated limestones– (Balcones Fault). The surface water comes from the East Williamson County Regional Water System. Jonah Water SUD purchases water from the Brazos River Authority Water Treatment Plant. Brazos River Authority provides purchase surface water from Lake Granger.
