The City Of Vernon Water supplies water to about 11,002 residents living in the Vernon area of Wilbarger County, Texas. The City Of Vernon Water Department sources water from wells drilled into the Seymour Aquifer. The Odell and Winston Farm wells are in wellfields in Northern Wilbarger; the Schmoker wells and Orbison Park wells are in the West and South Vernon respectively. The water from these wells is treated with chlorine and then pumped through ground-level storage tanks to reach the residents.
