The Town of Atlantic Beach Water supplies water to about 6,380 residents living in the Atlantic Beach area of Carteret County, North Carolina. Atlantic Beach Water Department operates deep water wells, a treatment facility, three 500,000-gallon water storage towers, and 20 miles of water lines. Water is obtained from seven groundwater wells - Wells #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, & #2A located around the Town. The wells have lower to moderate susceptibility to contamination, and the water is disinfected with chlorine to control microbial growth.
