The City of Bloomfield Water, a public community water system under the Utilities Department, provides water to about 7,090 residents living in Bloomfield in northeastern San Juan County, New Mexico. Founded in 1819, the City of Bloomfield Water System currently obtains its surface water supply near Pagosa Springs, Colorado, at Wolf Creek Pass. The water supply is carried into Bloomfield Reservoir by rivers and a citizens' ditch. It is then transferred to the water treatment facility via an 18-inch water line.
