The City of Bedford Water System, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 46,979 residents living in the area of Bedford, Texas. Established in 1956, the City of Bedford Public Works is currently obtaining its supply via purchase from the Trinity River Authority’s Tarrant County Water Supply Project, which uses a surface water source, Lake Arlington. Additionally, Bedford City uses groundwater from two deep-water wells that pump from the Trinity Aquifer for supplemental purposes.
