The City of Hurst Water Utilities, under the City Department of Public Services, provides water for about 38,410 residents living in the area of Hurst, Texas. Established in 1952, the City of Hurst Water currently obtains its supply from a combination of sources: purchased surface water from the City of Fort Worth using the area lakes - Benbrook, Eagle Mountain, Cedar Creek and Richland Chambers; and groundwater from six City-owned water wells pumping from the Trinity Aquifer beneath Tarrant County.
