The City of Post Water, a public community water system under the City Utility Administration Department, provides water to about 5,471 residents living in Post, the county seat of Garza County, Texas. Founded in 1907, the City of Post Water System currently purchases its supply from White River MWD, which draws water from two sources: Surface water from White River Lake and from Slaton, located in Lubbock County, a groundwater and surface water source.
