The City of Victoria Water Utilities, under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 62,592 residents living in the area of Victoria, Texas. Established in 1839, the City of Victoria Water Utilities is currently obtaining its supply from a surface water source, the Guadalupe River. For extreme emergencies and for peak demand periods; the City also retains 10 water wells that are drilled into the Gulf Coast Aquifer.
