The Ector County Utility District (ECUD) provides water for about 15,300 people living in the Odessa area, Ector County, Texas. Established in 1976, the Ector County Utility District purchases untreated water from the Colorado River Municipal Water District (CRMWD). Most of the water is surface water from Lake Ivie (Runnels County), Lake Thomas (Scurry County), and Lake Spence (Coke County). The ECUD also sources water from groundwater wells and Ward and Martin Counties' wells.
