The City Of Fairfield Water Department supplies water to about 9,416 residents of Fairfield City within Jefferson County, Iowa. The water is treated twice daily by blending it with the lime softening and EDR plant, then adding chlorine to mix with the naturally occurring ammonia to generate chloramines, which disinfect the water and provides potable and clean water.
