The City of Freeport Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Water, provides water for about 12,098 residents living in the area of Freeport, Texas. Established in 1912, the City of Freeport Water System is currently obtaining its supply via purchase from the Brazosport Water Authority (BWA), which uses surface water from Brazos River via Harris and Brazoria Reservoirs located in Brazoria County.
