The Galveston County Water Control and Improvement District #1 (WCID 1) provides water for about 29,280 residents living in the Dickinson area, Texas. Established in 1938, the Galveston County Water Control and Improvement District #1 currently obtains its supply from a surface water source, the Brazos River via the Gulf Coast Water Authority’s Thomas S. Mackey Water Treatment Plant.
