The Gum Springs Water Supply Corporation No. 2 supplies water to about 7,203 residents living in the Hallsville area in Harrison County, Texas. The Gum Springs WSC 2 purchases water from the City of Longview, which obtains surface water from Lake Cherokee in Gregg County, as well as the Sabine River and Lake O' the Pines. The water is treated with chemicals approved by the National Safety Foundation for water treatment, including chloramine and fluoride for disinfection and dental health protection.
