Hillsborough County Public Utilities supplies water for more than 600,000 residents of 11 communities in the Tampa-St. Petersburg, Florida metropolitan area. Established in 1967, Hillsborough County Public Utilities is one of six member governments of Tampa Bay Water, the region's wholesale water provider, which sources water from the Floridan Aquifer, the Alafia and Hillsborough Rivers, and the Tampa Bypass Canal.
