Founded in 1969, the Town of Holden Beach Water System currently purchases its supply from Brunswick County Water System, a blended water source. Surface water drawn from the Cape Fear River into the Brunswick County-owned two water treatment plants as the main source and supplementary groundwater sources, primarily 14 wells that drill into the Castle Hayne Aquifer underneath the area.
