The City of Keene Water supplies water to about 6,310 residents in the Keene area of Johnson County, Texas. Keene Water Department collects water from wells drawing from the Trinity Aquifer and purchases treated water from Johnson County SUD, which obtains surface water from Lake Granbury and groundwater from the Trinity Aquifer. The water is treated with fluoride for dental protection and chloramine for disinfection before it is distributed.
