The Lake Cities Municipal Utility Authority, a member of the Upper Trinity Regional Water District (UTRWD), provides water for about 16,533 people living in the Lake Dallas area, Denton County, Texas. Established in 1963, the Lake Cities Municipal Utility Authority purchases treated water from the UTRWD. The source water is surface water and well water drawn from Lewisville and Jim Chapman Lakes.
