The League City Water Production Section, under the City Public Works Department, provides water for about 104,857 residents living in the League area. Established in 1961, the League City Water purchases surface water from (1) Gulf Coast Water Authority Texas City originating from Brazos River in Galveston County, and (2) City of Houston from Trinity River in Harris County.
