The Meansville Riley Road Water Company, Inc. is a non-profit rural water company that provides water services to about 8,000 residents in South Carolina's Union and Spartanburg Counties. Founded in 1968, the Meansville Riley Road Water Company, Inc. purchases surface water from the Spartanburg Water System, the City of Union, and the Woodruff Roebuck Water District. The Spartanburg Water System supplies the Company with approximately 48% of its water from Spartanburg County's Lake William C. Bowen, Municipal Reservoir #1, and Lake H. Taylor Blalock. The City of Union provides water from the Broad River, and the Woodruff Roebuck Water Treatment Plant treats water from the North and South Tyger Rivers. The water is added chlorine and fluoride for disinfection and strong teeth.
