Abilene has multiple water providers: Abilene Water and Potosi Water. This page provides information about Potosi Water.

The Potosi Water Supply Corporation provides water services to about 7,509 residents living in the Abilene area of Taylor County, Texas. Potosi Water Supply Corporation purchases water from the City of Abilene, which in turn buys from the West Central MWD in Stephens County. The water originates from surface water sources in Lake Fort Phantom, Lake Ivie, and Hubbard Creek Lake and is disinfected with chloramine to prevent microbial growth. It also contains fluoride for healthy teeth.
