The San Angelo City Government’s Department of Water Utilities provides water for about 100,450 residents living in the San Angelo area. Established in 1867, the San Angelo Water Utilities collects surface water (reservoirs and lakes) and groundwater (Hickory Aquifer). The primary sources includes O.H. Ivie Reservoir, Twin Buttes Reservoir, Lake Nasworthy, O.C. Fisher Reservoir and Lake Spence.
