The San Diego Municipal Utility District No. 1 supplies water to about 6,291 residents living in the San Diego area of Duval County, Texas. San Diego Municipal Utility District #1 collects water from seven wells that draw groundwater from the Coastal Aquifer. The water wells include Hwy 359/Labber Well, Everett Well, FM 1329 Hinijosa Well, Ventura City Well, 4AS Well, Nunez Well, and New Tower Well behind the main office, and they are disinfected with free chlorine to kill micro-organisms.
