The Town of Prosper Water, under its Public Works Department, provides water for about 22,650 residents living in the Prosper area, Texas. Established in 1914, the Prosper Water Department obtains its supply from treated water purchased from the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD). NTMWD relies on surface water from Lavon Lake, Lake Texoma, and Jim Chapman Lake (Cooper Lake).
