The West Jefferson Water, of West Jefferson County Municipal Water District, provides water for about 188,770 residents living in the Jefferson area. Established in 1835, the West Jefferson Water purchases its raw water from the Lower Neches River Valley Authority (LNVA). The Neches River has many tributaries including Pine Island Bayou, Village Creek and Angelina River (Sam Raybum).
