Woodfin Sanitary Water & Sewer District, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 10,122 residents living in Weaverville, Woodfin, and Asheville, all in Buncombe County, North Carolina. Founded in 1931, the Woodfin Sanitary Water & Sewer District System currently obtains its surface water supply from the Sugar Camp Fork of Reems Creek. Additionally, The District maintains more than 100 miles of distribution lines, a treatment facility with a two-million-gallon daily capacity, and water storage facilities that can hold close to 3.5 million gallons, as well as numerous pumping stations, fire hydrants, and other appurtenances required for the system's secure and effective operation.
