The Zephyr Water Supply Corporation, a non-profit Water Corporation, provides water services to about 7,377 residents in the Zephyr area of Brown County, Texas. Founded in 1969, Zephyr Water Supply Corporation purchases water from the Brown County Water Improvement District #1, which draws from Lake Brownwood. The water is chemically treated at the treatment plant, which treats water through a series of processes, including coagulation and filtration, with the addition of chlorine and liquid ammonia to prevent bacterial growth.
