The City of Linton Water, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 6,815 residents living in Linton, Stockton Township, and Greene County, Indiana. Founded in the 1830s, the City of Linton Water System currently obtains water from groundwater sources, primarily four wells located in the south area of Ilene, approximately one mile east of Linton in Grant Township, that drill into the aquifer underneath the area. Additionally, the water system has two water towers with a capacity of one million gallons and approximately half a million gallons simultaneously.
