The City of Rensselaer Water supplies water to about 5,707 residents living in the Rensselaer area of Jasper County, Indiana. Founded in 1898, the City of Rensselaer Water Department operates two water storage towers and collects water from three groundwater wells. The wells pump from the bedrock system of the Sulrian and Devonian Carbonate Aquifer of the Muscatuk Group, and the water is disinfected with chlorine to control microbial growth.
