The Cortlandt Consolidated Water District, through the Town of Cortlandt Environmental Services Department, provides water for about 28,369 residents living in the Cortlandt area, New York. Established in 1788, the Town of Cortlandt Consolidated Water District currently obtains its supply from the New York City Water System that uses a combination of surface water sources: Catskill/Delaware watersheds and the Croton watershed. The District also maintains a connection to the City of Peekskill Water System and the Amawalk Water Treatment Plant as an emergency source when the demand arises.
