The Olean Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 14,500 residents living in the area of Olean, a city in Cattaraugus County, New York. Established in 1854 and incorporated as a city in 1872, the City of Olean Water System currently obtains its supply from a blend of sources, primarily three wells on the East River Road; and the water treatment plant on River Street, which draws water from the Olean Creek.
