The Dutchess County Water & Wastewater Authority (DCWWA) is an independent public benefit corporation that provides water services to about 6,928 residents living in the Hyde Park area in Dutchess County, New York. Founded in 1991, the DCWWA's Hyde Park Regional Water District pumps water from the Hudson River into its conventional Treatment Plant. The water undergoes chemical coagulation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection with chlorine, and the addition of copper sulfate and tri-polyphosphate to improve taste and odor and prevent corrosion, and is then distributed through 1,255 service connections to the customers.
