The Bath Electric, Gas & Water Systems (BEGWS) provides water services to about 6,298 residents in the Village and Town of Bath, Steuben County. BEGWS Public Water System operates four wells, over 80 feet deep, and two storage tanks and distributes water to approximately 2,400 customers. Water is obtained from four groundwater wells, Well #4 on Ark Street, Well #6 on Crane Street, Well #7 on Cameron Street, and Well #8 on Cameron Place, drawing from an aquifer near the Cohocton River. The water is disinfected with chlorine and fluoridated to prevent dental decay.
