The Locust Valley Water District supplies water to about 7,500 residents living in the Locust Valley area, including Oyster Bay, Mill Neck, Lattingtown, Matincock, and Glen Glove Cities in Nassau County. Founded in 1922, Locust Valley Water District collects water from Upper Glacial, North Shore, and Lloyd aquifers, with approximately 90% of the water coming from the North Shore and Lloyd aquifers. The underground water is pumped from six wells at different sites within the service area and delivered through 56 miles of interconnected water main.
