The Saratoga Water Services, Inc. supplies water to about 8,850 residents living in the Malta area of Saratoga County. Founded in 1978, Saratoga Water obtains water from groundwater sources, including five wells at Knapp Road wellfield and three wells at Cold Springs Road wellfield. The wells range from 35 to 300 feet deep and can produce up to three million gallons of water per day. Sources of drinking water generally include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells.
