Suez Water–Westchester is a private entity controlled by Suez North America, a subsidiary of a French-based multinational Suez Environment. It supplies water to about 155,219 residents in New Rochelle, Westchester County, New York. Founded in 1869, the Suez Water-Westchester System currently gets its water from a combination of two sources: 67 percent from the Aquarion of Connecticut through the Putnam Reservoir, and 33 percent from the Westchester Joint Water Works, which gets it from the New York City water system's upstate Catskill and Delaware watersheds.
