The Port Washington Water District provides water for about 34,000 residents living in the areas of North Hempstead and Port Washington, New York. Established in 1913, the Port Washington Water District currently obtains its supply from groundwater pumped from 12 wells at eight stations throughout the District. These wells are drilled into the Glacial, Port Washington, Magothy, and Lloyd Aquifers beneath Long Island.
