The Village of Rhinebeck Water supplies water through 1,835 connections to about 6,000 residents in the Rhinebeck area of Duchess County, New York. Rhinebeck Water Department pumps surface water from the Hudson River into its Water Treatment Plant situated off Slate Dock Road in the Hamlet of Rhinecliff. The water is treated through coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, chlorination, and the addition of orthophosphate for corrosion reduction and potassium permanganate for Zebra mussel control during warm seasons. Water is stored in a two million-gallon storage facility on Hilee Road and is distributed across 25 miles of water mains.
