The Village of Saranac Lake provides water services through 2,300 connections to about 5,345 residents in the Saranac Lake area of Franklin County, New York. The Village of Saranac Lake Water Department collects water from two 20” diameter drilled wells, approximately 150 feet deep each, and distributes it across 40 miles of water mains. Before distribution, the water is chemically treated with chlorine solution, zinc orthophosphate, and soda ash for disinfection and corrosion control and stored in two storage tanks.
