The City of Brookings Water supplies water to about 7,120 residents living in the Brookings area of Chetco County, Oregon. Founded in 1973, Brookings Utilities Water Department collects water from beneath the Chetco River through a Well intake four miles from Brookings. The water is disinfected, and the Water Treatment Facility, which provides filtration and sedimentation when necessary, produces 350 to 400 million gallons per year.
