The City of Tigard Water District, under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 57,658 residents living in the area of Tigard, Oregon. Established in 1961, the City of Tigard Water District is currently obtaining its supply from a surface water source, the Clackamas River. During periods of high water demand, Tigard supplements its supply with water from two city-owned aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) wells, and a native groundwater well.
