The Beaumont Water Utility Department provides water for about 118,129 residents living in the Beaumont area. Established in 1838, the Beaumont Water Utility Department has two sources of water: (1) a groundwater source, the Chicot Aquifer pumped through wells, and (2) surface water from the Neches River, processed through the city-owned water treatment plant.
