Founded in 1977, West Jefferson County Municipal Water District System currently purchases its surface water supply from Lower Neches River Valley Authority (LNVA) obtained from Neches River, including tributaries from Pine Island Bayou, Village Creek, Angelina River (Sam Rayburn).
