The City of Scottsburg Water, a public community water system under local government, provides water to about 6,750 residents living in Scottsburg within Vienna Township, Scott County, Indiana. Founded in 1871, the City of Scottsburg Water System currently obtains its supply mainly from Scottsburg Lake Reservoir, a surface water source. Additionally, Scottsburg purchases from Stucker Fork, which draws supply from two sources: surface water from the Muscatatuck River and groundwater sources, primarily wells located on Marble Hills that drill into the aquifer underneath the area.
