Erie County Water Authority-Boston is a non-profit organization who provides water to about 6,604 residents living in Boston, Erie County, New York. Founded in 1949, the Erie County Water Authority-Boston System currently obtains its surface water supply from Lake Erie and the Niagara River. The water system also includes two water treatment facilities: the Sturgeon Point Treatment Plant, which is in the Town of Evans, draws water from Lake Erie to supply the southern part of Erie County, while the Van de Water Treatment Plant, which is in the Town of Tonawanda, draws water from the Niagara River to supply the northern part of Erie County.
