The Village of Freeport Water System, a public community water system under the Village Department of Water, provides water for about 45,000 residents living in the area of Freeport, New York. Established in 1892, the Village of Freeport Water Department is currently obtaining its supply from a groundwater source, eight operating wells that have been drilled into Magothy Aquifer.
