Jea-Ponte Vedra Grid, a non-profit City of Jacksonville-owned utility, provides water to about 5,395 residents living in Jacksonville, St. Johns County, Florida. Founded in 1895, the Jea-Ponte Vedra Grid System currently obtains its supply from the Floridan aquifer, a groundwater source where wells are drilled that are approximately 800 to 1,000 feet below the surface of the earth.
