Village of Medina Water, a public community water system under the Department of Public Works, provides water to about 6,500 residents living in Medina, in the towns of Shelby and Ridgeway in Orleans County. Founded in 1832, the Village of Medina Water System currently obtains its supply from Niagara County Water District, drawn from the Chippawa Channel, west of the Grand Island Niagara River, through the treatment facility at Williams Road, Town of Wheatfield.
