The North Cherokee Water Supply Corporation provides water services to about 5,286 residents in the Jacksonville area of Cherokee County, Texas. The Corporation was founded in 1965 as the MET Water Supply Corporation and was merged with the Mt. Selman Water Supply Corporation to become the North Cherokee WSC. The Water Department collects water from a deep well in Larissa, three miles west of Mt. Selman, pumping groundwater from the Carrizo/Wilcox Aquifer. Additional surface water is purchased from the City of Jacksonville, which draws from Lake Jacksonville.
