The Nyack Water, a public community water system under the Village Department of Water, provides water for about 14,700 residents living in the area of Nyack, New York, a village located primarily in the town of Orangetown in Rockland County. This water district also serves the Village of South Nyack and portions of the unincorporated Clarkstown communities of Central Nyack, and West Nyack. Established in 1883, the Village of Nyack Water System currently obtains its supply from surface water sources, primarily from the Hackensack River, which begins at the Lake Deforest Reservoir.

Lead Report (2016)

C+

WaterZen Rating

Lead levels in the drinking water of some cities across the United States are too high, potentially creating public-health issues for the people living in those areas.

What about Nyack Water? How much lead is in your drinking water? And how do those levels compare to other cities in the state? We examined data from hundreds of cities across the nation to understand and grade your water quality.

As you can see, Nyack Water received an average grade because the amounts of contaminants found in the water supply were higher than most other water providers we've analyzed.
