Springfield has multiple water providers: Springfield Utilities and Rainbow Water District. This page provides information about Rainbow Water District.
Rainbow Water District is a regional water supply services district that provides water to about 6,300 residents living in Springfield, Lane County, Oregon. Founded in 1949, Rainbow Water District System currently obtains its supply mainly from groundwater sources, primarily four well fields. I-5, Wellfield #1, has two wells that provided 49% of our April-September (spring and summer) water demand and 53% of our fall and winter (October-March) water demand in 2022. Chase, Wellfield #2 has five wells that provide 36% of our spring/summer demand and 44% of our fall/winter demand. Q Street, Wellfield #3, has one well that can support the Clyde water system during summer water demand by 2%. And Weyerhaeuser, Wellfield #4, jointly owned by Springfield Utility Board (SUB) and Clyde, has three wells where one well is under the influence of the McKenzie River, making it a groundwater source under the influence of surface water, providing 13% of our spring/summer demand and 2% of our fall/winter demand.Springfield Drinking Water Quality
Consumer Confidence Water Quality Reports
Under the authority of the Safe Drinking Water Act, the EPA requires Rainbow Water District to assess local water quality each year and distribute a Consumer Confidence Water Quality Report. At WaterZen, we review these reports and make the information available, in a concise, straightforward, and easy-to-understand way. You can find CCR report on the Rainbow Water District website.
